33. To help poor Brits understand what the war was really about as slavery only seems to be one reason for it.

34. To see how BC handles having his main protagonist on the losing side of a war - ie how Nate will handle losing the war?

So that BC can have Nat participate in several "firsts" that occurred in the Civil War, such as:
35. The first submarine to sink a warship. 36. The launch of the first intercontinental ballistic missile. 37. The first gunpowder factory to be "fireproof" |

"Intercontinental"? From one continent to another? I doubt it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
I remember watching an episode of Myth Busters where they were talking about the missile used by the South - but they seemed to be unsure (IIRC) about the actual validity of the missile. -------------------- SCIENCE: A way of finding things out and then making them work. 38. So Nate can beat Uhtred and Thomas (or Nick) in the race to five books!
I loved the Saxon series, but you never heard Nate bragging about how he killed Ubba by the sea. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

I really was unsure of where to put this so hope this is right.
I just started Rebel, the very first Starbuck book and I think I'm really going to like it. What an interesting twist having the son of a Northern Abolishinist go South. I'm not very far into the book just where Robert E. Lee comes to call, not a very flattering picture of such a Southern hero. |
